Von Winning – Sauvignon Blanc II – 2016 (Metrovino)
Von Winning has an excellent Riesling so I thought I would test drive this Sauvignon Blanc. This German wine is a very terroir driven wine and it gives many of the qualities you would associate with a wine from Sancerre in the Loire Valley of France. The German volcanic soils in the region where it is produced shine through in this wine. This would be an amazing wine pairing with oysters.
Tasting Notes: Fruit flavours of grapefruit and lime. All herbs here from tarragon to dill. Powerful acidity and a strong mineral presence.
