Chevalier de Dyonis – Pinot Noir – 2016 (Rocky Mountain)
So with this wine we get to see what the hills of Southern Romania can produce with the Pinot Noir grape. The climate here is comparable to that of Burgundy so that is a plus and so is the $14.99 price tag. My general impression is that this is a very straight forward wine which is unmistakably characteristic with many of the Pinot Noirs I drink in the mid $20 range so although not spectacular still darn good value for the money.
Tasting Notes: very fruit forward wine with lifted aromatics and well defined cherry and raspberry on the palate, has some forest floor going on in the mid palate, very short for me on the finish
