Porca de Murca Douro – Tinto – 2013 (Bin 905)

So this is the classic Douro blend of Touriga Nacional , Tinta Franca and Tinta Roriz.  These are the same traditional Portuguese grapes found in Port.  This particular wine sells at about a clip of 1 million per year and at about $14.99.  Great value here and a bit more density and richness than you would expect in a red at this price point.  Totally worth a try!

Tasting Notes:  cherry and black plum with floral notes, rich cooked fruit character which leads to nice body and a surprisingly long finish, even get some herbs on the back palate
