Antidoto – Ribera del Duero – 2014 (Kensington Wine Market)
This tempranillo based wine comes from the Ribera del Duero DO and in particular from the province of Soria. The area has a much cooler climate than the rest of...
Tempranillo is a black grape variety widely grown to make full-bodied red wines. It is commonly found in the vineyards of Northern and Central Spain. Generally speaking it is a lower acid but higher tannin wine. The key identifying markers for me are leather and cherry.
In terms of food pairings it goes very well with tomato based sauces, BBQ and smoked meats but my personal favourite has always been lamb.
