CVNE – Rioja Reserva – 2013 (J.Webb)
This wine is quite light and more elegant than the usual robust full-bodied style of Rioja. It comes from the Rioja Alta and is a classic blend of Tempranillo with small amounts of Granacha, Graciano and Mazuelo. Rioja is patient with their wines and this one gets 18 months in cask and 24 months in bottle before it hits the shelf!
Tasting Notes: Loads on bright red cherry on the palate and a very distinctive balsamic quality mid palate with spicy notes on the finish. Great acidity and an elegance I would not always expect from a Rioja Reserva.
