Spierhead – Pinot Noir Cuvee

This wine is velvety smooth with wonderful mouth feel.  The nose gives nice cherry fruit and plum with a hint of violet.

As the finish lingers I get racy acidity and the red cherry and plum stay strong on the mid palate.  The Dijon clones used to produce this wine give good complexity, a subtle earthiness and spice character on the back palate.   The wine is definitely going to benefit from ageing if you can resist the temptation.

It is as appealing to me as the beautiful property at Spierhead that is about the highest in Lake Country.
