This tempranillo based wine comes from the Ribera del Duero DO and in particular from the province of Soria.  The area has a much cooler climate than the rest of Ribera and its soils are poor and sandy which kept the Phylloxera away leaving ungrafted vines.  It is very different in style from the wines of Rioja.  A wine where finesse meets power!

Tasting Notes: Very perfumed on the nose. This wine is a nice combination of fruit and ageing as it shows little to no oak and some interesting herbal notes.  For me lots of black plum and some smokiness.  A wine that is powerful and elegant in the same breath.
