Cesconi – Pinot Grigio – 2015 (Metrovino)

This Italian Pinot Grigio hails from the high rugged alpine terrain above Trento in family vineyards that have been tended to for over two centuries.  The result of the high terroir and decent age on the vines certainly helps to create a Pinot Grigio with a bit more complexity and concentration.  The wine comes from strong biodynamic practice and is clean, crisp and refreshing.  This would pair nicely with Halibut in a garlic butter.

Tasting Notes:  Strong fruit flavours of pear and Granny Smith apple and zingy acidity.  Might be a bit of honey and smoke coming through on the finish but it is very subdued.
