Octavia – Cabernet Sauvignon – 2014 (Metrovino)
This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Paso Robles and is at a very reasonable price point at the time of this review. It is not an overpowering giant wine but has a nice fruity quality that makes it an easy drinker. Unlike many big cabs this one has a very muted presence of oak and some may find this pleasing. It still would be a great compliment to your next backyard BBQ with family and friends.
Tasting Notes: The fruits are not as deep in the black spectrum and but I still get a black cherry presence as well as red currant. There might be a hint of cedar and a bit of bell pepper but all in all it is pretty much fruit forward.
