Josef Chromy- Pinot Noir – 2015 (J. Webb)
The story of Josef’s escape from a Czech war-torn village in 1950 and making his way to Australia then Tasmania is inspiring and so is this wine. This is a powerful Pinot with some complexity that is not often seen in a wine at this price point. My favorite new world pinot to date!
Tasting Notes: There is red cherry and raspberry that gives way to black cherry and currant in the mid palate. There is clove, nutmeg and cinnamon as well as some oak indicators of sweet vanilla and toast. Velvety smooth and well balanced.
