Backyard – Nosey Neighbour Red – 2016 (Kensington Wine Market)
Even a sommelier can be lured by advertising! What a fun wine to spread around your neighbourhood though! A blend of a bunch of Bordeaux varietals and some Syrah that comes across medium bodied but with some big bad grapes and it just scrapes below $20. Canadian wine is tough to fit in the value category due to land and production costs but we have really need to support the great work that is being done by BC wineries.
Tasting Notes: Ripe plummy fruit, jammy as well, a bit earthy on the mid palate, good balance between fruit, tannin and acidity, fun wine
