Manos Negros Red Soil – Pinot Noir – 2012 (Willow Park)
I have more experience with Chile than Argentina so this seemed like a great Pinot Noir to start with. It comes from iron rich red soils of Neuquen in the south. This soil and the strong southerly winds make this a terroir driven experience. Great minerality and an earthiness that is not as common with less expensive Pinots.
Tasting Notes: Red Cherry on the palate with decent concentration. The nose is one that suggests an earthiness with some spice and herbs. The finish expresses this earthiness and minerality and gives a sense of the hands-on operation in the vineyard.
